Breeding Program - Stallions | |
|
||
| We
purchased Duncan is 1997 from Glenn and Phyllis Shaw of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Prior to that, he stood as a stallion for the University of Wisconsin.
His foals were always the first pick of the students. They are all very
trainable, smart and kind. They are also very athletic. Duncan was shown
as a young stallion and placed 9th in the junior reining at the AQHA
World Show. It was remarked that Duncan was years ahead of himself in
his style of reining. He continued to be shown until he suffered an injury
to his right front foot.
We thoroughly enjoyed having Duncan as part of our breeding program. He was easy to get along with and could still spin on a dime. Our young son Tee Jay could catch and lead him anywhere. We pasture bred mares with him for 4 years and were delighted to sell him to our friends, Bill and Jan Wood of Newell, South Dakota. He is now 25 years old, still breeding mares, and doing remarkably well. That's longevity! We have 15 daughters off of Duncan and they are all alike. They are all around 15 hands, stout, have pretty heads, and have his fabulous disposition. |
