We chose this young stallion because he ties into our program so well. He was purchased from Tom Ford of Winifred, Montana. This is the same rancher that we purchased our original 23 mares from. Boomer's dam, Boyero's Red is a sister to those original mares. Boomer adds the speed that we want in our cow horses. The entire topside (paternal) of his pedigree is made up of horses that were AAA runners, producers or both. His sire, Nashville, is also the sire of Azure Te. On the dam side, you can't go wrong with Joe Reed II, the sire of Leo.

Boomer has tons of charm and personality, and he is the most athletic horse Kim says she has ever ridden. 2003 was his first year barrel racing and even though they experienced some growing pains, Boomer showed tons of potential. In November 2004, the hard decision was made to geld Boomer. We feel that his potential as a barrel horse will be more attainable as a gelding. Kim will be competing on Boomer at CCA and MRCA rodeos in 2005. Warren is also roping on Boomer this winter, so he may end up a head horse too!

We do have two yearling prospects by Boomer and five mares in foal by him for 2005.
